We went to Vegassss!!

thegirlwhotravelst

So we finally managed to do our long awaited trip to Las Vegas that has been planned for a friends 30th birthday for two years now! Due to the pandemic we weren't able to go and as flights kept getting cancelled it was touch and go to be able to go finally.

We decided that as we had been waiting for so long there was no harm in spending a bit more money to really do Vegas in style. This started by paying for a limo to pick us up from the airport when we landed. Now of course we had drinks on the flight over and continued to drink with champagne being provided in the limo. I've never felt more like the characters from the Hangover film than I did in this moment. The limo took us past the Vegas sign and dropped us to the MGM Grand where we were staying.

A cheeky tip - When checking in to your room offer a tip to the receptionist and ask if you can be ugraded. We managed to get our room upgraded with views over the strip and comfier mattresses.

We didn't realise how jet lagged we would feel and for the first night or two we felt extremely tired come the evening however that didn't stop us visiting Denny's Diner and Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. The great thing about jet lag was that we were awake come 5am so would be having breakfast nice and early. You really couldn't tell a difference in times whilst walking through the casino and one of our friends even managed to win $100 at 6am in the morning! Breakfast was on him!!

Whilst in Vegas we did the following:

- Visited as many of the famous hotels as we can (most of the hotels have their own shopping malls and restaurants so that's a great way to see them).

- Went to the Neon Museum. This was so fun and I'd definitely recommend!

- A pool party at Wet Republic

- Helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon

- Fountains of Bellagio (Hyde Bar has a great view of these)

- Hoover Dam Bypass

- Drank and ate as much as we could
