GoBoating in London!

thegirlwhotravelst

This week I was fortunate to be gifted a trip with GoBoat London. Although the weather was wet we still had such a great time and I would definitely recommend if you are looking for something fun to do in London, whether it's a date, family fun day or you just fancy meeting up with friends to do something different!

GoBoat is the fun self-drive boating experience. With no boating experience needed, you can hire one of their eco-friendly electric boats and you can go wherever you want on the allocated route that they give you! GoBoat have two locations in London - Paddington and Kingston.

Each boat can seat up to 8 people around a sociable picnic table (although at the moment you can only have a maximum of 6 people from different households on the boats due to Covid or you can have 8 people from 1 household/bubble). With the government rules constantly changing I would definitely recommend that you check their website before you book as it's always hard to know when rules have to be changed in line with the government guidelines.

We started our trip from the Paddington base. On the day the check in was quick and efficient. I must give an extra shout out to the staff who were so friendly and helpful!!

Before we arrived at the boats we popped to M&S (there's one around the corner from the Paddington basin). We stocked up on plenty of picnic food and some alcohol for the route. What is great about GoBoat is that you can bring your own picnic and alcohol but note that there is a limit on the amount of alcohol you can take.

You don't have to be worried about being too cold on the boat at this time of year as you are given a complimentary hot drink, fleece blankets and you can borrow a heated seat pad.

After we were checked in we set off on our adventure up the Regent's Canal. We headed up the canal, past the ZSL zoo, where you can see a couple of animals. We followed the canal all the way up to Camden so were able to see plenty on route. The experience was absolutely brilliant!
