Let's talk lockdown!

thegirlwhotravelst

I am sure you all saw the word 'lockdown' and thought not this again! I think we've all got to the point of denial about it all and completely emotionally drained (I know I have).

I wanted to do a slightly different blog post today to talk about mental health. I've been busy working on a project about this that I am extremely passionate about and can't wait to share the details with you.

Truth be told lockdown has been tough for me! I've lost close friends and found the real meaning of friendships and who is there for me whilst battling with my mental health. Travelling has always been something to look forward to and with so much uncertainty at the moment it's been hard to actually have something to look forward to.

Having said that I've also really enjoyed being able to enjoy the simple things. Going for a walk and enjoying the fresh air! Meeting up with a friend to go for a walk and have completely honest chats about how we're feeling. It's made me really appreciate the small things.

I've enjoyed being able to support small businesses at such a tough time and enjoyed a lot of mulled wine! Even with Christmas being over I'm enjoying the wine and trying to carry on the festive celebrations.

I just wanted to write a small blog to remind you all that YOU ARE ENOUGH! You are beautiful! You are that friend for someone when they really need it and my gosh it's appreciated! We've got this guys and soon we can look forward to 'normal' life - whatever the new normal is going to look like! X
