This week I visited the lavender fields in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. They have around 35 miles of lavender and they also have sunflowers that you can pick. It's a great place to visit for a day out, whether it be with friends or with the family.
The entry price varies depending on what day of the week you go but they start from £4 for adults and you can get family tickets (they admit four people) for £18.50. Children under four years old are free. Due to the pandemic they have limited the amount of people on site at one time so you will have to book your tickets in advance otherwise you won't be able to go in to the fields. They have two hour time slots.
At the fields they have onsite parking as well as a coffee shop/farm shop and they have toilet facilities. You could easily spend a few hours here and you are welcome to bring your own picnic.
You can see more about the fields on their website - https://hitchinlavender.com
