If you're looking to visit India then I HAVE to share this cafe with you. They have two centers - one in Agra and one in Lucknow.
I absolutely love the cafe because there is such a strong concept behind it! It was set up as an entrepreneurial project of Stop Acid Attacks team for acid attack survivors.
Unfortunately acid attacks are very common in India and after the attacks it has been observed that survivors start to live a covert life, aloof from the society. Mostly in the cases of survivors who are attacked in the young age of 12-20years their education and career is greatly harmed. With this project their careers can be regenerated. They can earn a livelihood by themselves and also can pursue their desired career by being more socialized than any time before in their past lives. It's an opportunity for their voices and stories to be heard.
You can enjoy drinks and food in the cafes as well as supporting their campaign. I honestly cannot praise the work that they do enough. Without the support of people visiting like you and me they wouldn't be able to carry on providing support to survivors of acid attacks.
